How To Get Content for Your Blog
I’ve had a number of people ask me recently how they can get content for their blogs. One great way is to go to article directories. There are many of them and you can find them by searching google for
Article Directories
Josh Spaulding also gives a list of 15 popular ones in a recent blog post.
Browse the article directories and read some articles pertaining to what your blog is about. Go to other blogs that talk about the same thing as you are writing about. Get ideas. DO NOT PLAGARIZE. If you do copy and paste (which I do NOT recommend), you must do it as a quote and link to the original source of the quoted text. If you talk about something that is in another person’s blog, be courteous and give them a link like I did above for Josh. Have the link open in a new window so when your reader is done looking at it, they are back at your blog.
Don’t be stingy with links to others. The more information you can give your readers, the more they will be inclined to return to your blog. If they know you give out great information, they will be back.
Most of the time I, personally, like to listen to my good friends and mentors - Richard Dennis, Art Jonak, Tom "Big Al" Schreiter and Michael Dlouhy - and write about what I learn from them. I do like to read others blogs and have a lot of them in my feed reader. If I see something that strikes a cord with me, I will write about it. I also try to use things that happen in my business and in everyday life to tell a story and tie it in to a lesson.
As long as you provide good content, your readers will be back.
